IMO insurance companies are probably one of the greatest scam groups
around. Their operations become quite relevant in the design of health
care.

SUBSIDIES!
In health care, the way subsidies grease the huge palms of insurance
companies is to have the healthy be forced to have health insurance so
subsidies will be at the ready to pay the insurance companies and
supposedly make insurance premiums more affordable for those that
cannot afford health insurance.

Meanwhile to further remove any risks insurance companies might
acquire, we have deductibles and co pays. Oil companies get subsidies,
so do farmers among many other entities. Talk about pyramid schemes,
they are running amuck.

Another scheme for getting more money for insurance companies is titled
penalties. In Medicare if you don't sign up and begin paying premiums at the
once ripe young age of 65, later enrollments would smack you heavily with
penalties to get Medicare. The guy that thought that social security was
his personal slush fund to start 3 wars after 9/11, G W Bush, he slaps a
penalty on those that didn't sign up when they were 65 for Part D. That's for
prescription insurance.

I went 6 years past that age and finally had to buy Part D and my penalties
are higher than my premiums. I didn't need prescriptions help until 6 years
later. Uh.....where are my subsidies?

SUSIDIES! They all go to the insurance companies. Then another load of crap
is the expression if you don't like what the government is doing, contact your
congressman or senators. I did this and I was told by both that these
penalties were negotiated! In other words, I got stuffed under the garbage
heap just like all other complaints.

It is obvious that most legislation is based on being politically correct and not
favoring the public which the laws were intended for by the constitution, not
the scam artists.

Trump was right when he labeled Washington as the swamp. It's difficult to
maintain this draining for the magnitude of dangerous reptiles were not
known about. Hey, the swamp even has snakes that walk upright and talk.
They are those that negotiate subsidies for the insurance companies.

Here is one of the swamp enforcers. This one is only 15 feet long. An Eastern
Diamondback Rattlesnake. If you don't like this one, they also have pythons
bigger than this. They eat alligators. Even those 15 feet long or better.

Linaway,

Don’t want to get in a pissing contest with you about healthcare but yes, healthcare companies {and even Obamacare} count on healthy  people paying premiums to cover the cost of benefits for unhealthy people.   The amount paid in benefits for unhealthy people far exceeds the premiums paid by those unhealthy people.  That is partly why you pay Medicare premiums your whole life as it appears as part of the social security you pay out of your paycheck
No company----nor the government’s Obamacare----- can survive without it.  That is how ALL insurance works and that is why Obamacare had mandated premiums or pay a penalty for not taking coverage.  Unfortunately the idiots who wrote the plan did not make the penalty high enough to have it work.  Or maybe they were not idiots because if the made the penalty a more appropriate amount----I.e. much larger----people would have screamed “we don’t want Obamacare”
And the increased premium for late starting Medicare option----talk to your representative.  That is a government mandate as Medicare is a government plan and congress dictates the rules.
So the one’s you need to complain to are in congress.
And if you want to see how the government runs healthcare, just look at the VA.  Guys dying while waiting for treatment because administrators don’t care about the vets.   And you cannot fire the bastards who cause this because they are civil servants.  Civil my ass.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I read what you said and I had repeated part of it in my original post. IMO
there surely is a better way. It isn’t right to have to be the North American
continent “brothers keeper”!

Complain to our government, my post also related to that. You cannot get
around the barrier congress has to protect their ideology from John Q. Public. Many other levels of government typically have “the wall” protecting them from the public including the VA.

AHAHAHAHA, talk to your representative, that has not worked out for me
at all. No, you can’t talk to them but if you look hard enough, you can find
Email links. In all probability all email is screened before the addressee gets it. Been there, done that. And got a “form email” telling me these things were negotiated. Short, extremely blunt!

Just so you know, when “uncky sugar” got done with me, I went to work for a very large insurance company. I was there for about a year and you wouldn’t believe the things these people do to get one more drop of blood from those they deal with. I was a claims processor. Whew, the rules were mind boggling.

Insurance companies are like parent businesses where none make a product. Take Textron for instance. They do not make any products but they own many aviation, tool, amphibious companies and so on. The company I worked for, which Txt owned, had no such thing as a suggestion box. If you did outstanding work, my company gave you little recognition for it. They too were very large in their line of manufacturing. Yet TXT had a lets call it a suggestion box. If one of their employees did good, huge amounts of money and benefits were bestowed on them. In my company if you did equally well, you got nothing.

Insurance companies are pyramid oriented and don’t tell me they’re not. I have relatives that were underwriters for a very large corporation. I had relatives that dealt with policy sales. The pyramid scheme run rampant.

The lower individuals got no salary. They worked only on commission. In short, you needed a good job to support your insurance sales work. The “big boys n girls” in the insurance companies always got a huge piece of the pie while the underlings got the crumbs and only when a sale was made.

No, not a whiz contest my friend, just sharing what my experiences have been. I close by reminding you of this famous expression.

YOU CANNOT FIGHT CITYHALL! Why, they are protected by barriers and they walk upright and talk even though they are snakes. Then they have the enforcers who can do you damage. I a few years back had my house and garage roof messed up with wind and hail. When parts of repair was submitted to my property owners insurance, I had weeks of disputes with them over this.

OOPS, guess I wasn’t closing yet. Still on a rant.

Finally one day I get a phone call. There was a female on the other end with a voice deep enough to be a bass singer. When she asked to speak to so n so, I said this is he. All she said was this!

NOT COVERED!

Nowhere in the policy specifically was these disputed repair costs shown yet the underwriters gave me the lip music I just mentioned.. So my friend, government had little to do with this, it was all insurance company. Know this. I did have storm damage coverage shown. I guess this company decided they would make up the rules as they go. This experience coast me $1400 and change.

Heh, heh, a few months later, I get a call from my insurance agency. I was told a filming crew would be coming to my home to shoot pictures then instruct me on what I needed to do to upgrade my home and property after this bad storm. I told them if they wished to stand in the street to do their filming, be my guest, on my property, I would have them arrested for trespassing. I got to shove it up theirs for a change.  You see I have spent 46 years upgrading my home and property. The beat goes on and on and on!

Cannot agree with you more about claim problems.  I have client who has been on and off Long Term Care insurance claim for two years.  Now that she needs daily care the insurance company has found something in the doctor’s files from long ago that had them deny the current claim.  Apparently the company is having financial problems so they are going through everything, including all old claim files,  to see what they can deny.  It is a nasty business.

Kidd,

A good exchange sharing thoughts. Thanks for participating. On another
note, about the All 7's we discussed. I failed to tell you about the active
permutations of the preset that are big as life centered.
